Find that your road tax is gonna expire soon? Don’t worry, the Transport Ministry of the Madani Government has launch MySIKAP, a portal that allows renewing made easy! As simple as ABC! Follow the steps below to have it renew as soon as possible and hassle-free!
To use the mySIKAP portal, register for an account. How to register for an account on mySIKAP:
- Step 1: Open the mySIKAP portal at https://public.jpj.gov.my/public/login.zul
- Step 2: Look for the button that says Sign In As First Time User (MyKad) when you scroll down the page
- Step 3: Fill in all the necessary details that is marked with * and enter the security code as shown
- Step 4: Confirm everything by clicking the box and press the Submit button
- Step 4: Click Yes on the prompt message shown on the screen
- Step 5: With a successful registration, the first-time password will be sent to your email
Note: Password validity is 7 days. Failing to activate your account within that period, individual is required to sign up for an account again.
Once confirmed a successful registration, users is required to complete the first-time login within 7 days to activate their account. For first-time log-in are as follows:
- Step 1: Visit https://public.jpj.gov.my/public/login.zul
- Step 2: Fill in your IC number and the required details such as the first password that was sent to you via email.
- Step 3: Complete the security code on the screen and click login.
- Step 4: Once logged in, you are required to change to a new password and fill in the security questions!
- Step 5: Login again after you have change your password and Voila! You can start browsing the platform!
mySIKAP portal allows you to renew road tax easily from anywhere. Do note that the owners of vehicles can perform renewal via this platform. Renewal on behalf of a parent, sibling or spouse is not allowed on this platform.
- Step 1: Log in to mySIKAP and click on the Vehicle option
- Step 2: Look for Vehicle Search under submenu, select Renew Motor Vehicle License (LKM)
- Step 3: Enter the Vehicle Registration Number
- Step 4: Search and the system will display the vehicle information
- Step 5: Verify the information displayed for accuracy
- Step 6: Once verified, proceed to fill in the required information
- Step 7: Make the transaction via a credit/debit card/online banking
- Step 8: Select your preferred collection method to receive your road tax
Note: Owners can opt for physical or online delivery of road tax on the mySIKAP portal. Owners can self collect their physical road tax at the nearest JPJ/UTC branch or to make things easier, have it delivered to your registered home address. Digital road tax is optional for the online alternative and will be updated via the MyJPJ mobile app.
